LeeAnne Cornyn has dedicated her career to improving the health and well-being of Ohio's children and families. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University before serving as a Teach For America corps member, where she taught eighth-grade science in Los Angeles. She later received her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and began her legal career as an assistant attorney general in the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

In 2015, LeeAnne was appointed director of children's initiatives for then-Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. Four years later, Governor Mike DeWine selected her to serve as Ohio's first director of children's initiatives, a cabinet-level position responsible for coordinating statewide efforts supporting children and families across maternal and child health, early childhood education, child welfare, and related policy areas. She also served as director of cabinet affairs and deputy chief of staff in the Governor's Office.

In 2023, LeeAnne was appointed director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, now the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health. During her tenure, she helped expand access to mobile crisis services for children and young people across Ohio and advanced statewide initiatives to strengthen behavioral health care.

Prior to joining the Appalachian Children's Coalition as executive director, LeeAnne also worked in the private sector, focusing on improving Ohio's system of care for children and youth with complex behavioral health needs.

LeeAnne lives in Columbus with her husband, their son, and their Cavapoo, Harry.
